How to get Sexy Abs

When it comes to improving the tone and strength of your abdominal muscles you should not be relying on exercise alone. In fact if you want to get good quality abs you need to get rid of the fat that covers them. Therefore you need to have a well balanced diet and a good workout/exercise regime in place. Unfortunately although you can improve the condition of your abs through exercise if you are not eating the right kinds of foods then you will not be able to see them as they will be covered by a layer of body fat.

Essentially the diet you should be aiming to have is one that relies much less on the calories you consume and instead on how much protein you intake. It is therefore important that you avoid all dairy products that have a high fat content (drink semi skimmed or skimmed milk etc). Also you must avoid all kinds of junk food and those which have a high sugar content level. Plus avoid those fad diets and any kinds of supplements if you are looking for a way to improve the condition of your abs as well as remove the unwanted fat layer.

When it comes to your dietary requirements you should be aiming to eat between 5 and 6 small meals each day and they should contain between 2 or 3 of the following food in them.

1. Oatmeal

2. Olive Oil

3. Whole grain breads

4. Fruit and vegetables

5. Nuts – choose those which you can eat which have a skin on them such as almonds.

6. Eggs – but more of the white and less of the yolk

7. Natural peanut butter

8. Lean meats – especially chicken, turkey and fish

9. Plus drink plenty of water and green tea.

But as well as eating the right kinds of foods as mentioned above you need to devise a good workout routine that you can carry out on a regular basis. However any exercises you use specifically for the abdominal muscles should be carried out on one day and then you should allow 1 or 2 days between carrying them out again. This allows them time to recover and repair themselves from the previous workout session. So you should really be aiming to carry out not just abs exercises, but also some cardio and weightlifting work as well at about 4 times each week.

By ensuring that you eat the right foods and carry out the right kinds of exercises you will soon start to notice a difference within about a month of first starting. Certainly as time progresses you will soon start to notice a marked difference in the amount of fat on this particular part of your body. However, you should not expect miracles and in order to get good looking abs will take a look of hard work and dedication on your part. But by keeping to a good diet and workout regime you should soon start to notice a real difference in the next 6 months or so.
